Ladies, lads share sector as they get a taste of high jump mixed doubles

For the first time in Moscow Cup history, prizes were awarded in the mixed doubles category. Pairs were formed based on a random drawing of bib numbers, and final standings were determined according to the sum total of the partners’ best respective attempts. Mikhail Tsvetkov and Yelena Slyusarenko excelled in the new category with an aggregate clearance of 4,16 (2,24+1,92), ahead of second place finishers Marina Kuptsova and Peter Brayko with 4,14 (1,99+2.15). Bronze medals went to Anna Chicherova and Pavel Fomenko who managed a 4,10 (1,95+2.15) combined effort.
Viktoria Seregina and Andrey Tereshin finished in 4th place on the strength of their 4,05 (1,85+2,20) composite score, and Vyacheslav Voronin and Tatyana Grigorieva rounded out the top five with 4,04 (2,24+1,80).
Curiously, the contest only took up a single pit, as men and women took turns making one attempt at a time at their respective heights. Dual bar holders were used and the bar was moved up or down after each try.
