Borzakovskiy opens the season with a 45,91 showing

Yuriy Borzakovskiy successfully opened his outdoor season by winning the 400 m race at the Russian Cup meet in Tula. Yuriy’s time of 45,91 was the second best performance of his career, some 0,07 sec short of his PR incidentally set on the same track two years ago. In his trademark style, he went out slower than his competitors, yet fairly fast for himself, as he hit the 200 m mark in 22,74.
Cheered on by enthusiastic fans, Yulia Tabakova set a new PR in the women’s 100 m dash. The home turf factor proved significant enough for her to break through with a 11,16 performance. It was a good day for another Tula native, Olesya Zykina, who won the lapper in an impressive 51,31.
Tatyana Polnova of Krasnodar set a new PR of 4,45 in the women’s pole vault.
