7,06 for Tatyana Ter-Mesrobian!

Tatyana Ter-Mesrobian leaped a gigantic 7,06 at the St. Petersburg collegiate meet. Unfortunately, the stadium where the competition took place was not equipped with a wind gauge, but, according to the witnesses, there was no tail wind. Prior to this effort, Tatiana boasted a PR of 6,94, set in Khania (Greece) in 1998. That year she won the National Indoor Title before grabbing the silver at the European Indoors, and then repeated as the National Indoor Champion in 2000. Tatiana’s first success came nearly 16 years ago, when she claimed the bronze at the 1986 Junior World Championships in Athens on the strength of a 6,39 jump. Curiously, the now-famous Fiona May rounded off the top eight juniors that year with an effort of 6,11.
