Kotova planned to skip not just the European Indoors, but the entire indoor
season altogether. She and coach Vladimir Kudryavtsev work hard towards
achieving a new level of performance this summer.
Nevertheless, when a group of athletes traveled to Omsk to compete, Tatyana
joined in at the long jump pit, the quality of which left much to be
desired. She went 6,50 in her first attempt, then 6,73 in her second.
Starting to get hot, she improved in each consecutive jump -- 678, 679 и 680
respectively. The last attempt was simply briliant --701! World-leading
performance for Tatyana Kotova!
It is worth noting that the very next day Kotova went 1,75 in the high jump.
